Case Studies

European fintechs, before and after Arkē.

Composite use cases from onboarding calls with EMIs, neobanks, and CASPs across the EU — an EMI in Vilnius, a neobank in Paris, and a CASP in Frankfurt.

Screening

A Lithuanian EMI

Series A · 8-person compliance team · 1,200 counterparties/month
Problem
Sanctions screening was a 4-hour daily job for two analysts. OFAC list refreshes were manual, dropped duplicates between EU and UN lists, and onboarding new merchants took three business days before signs-off.
Arkē action
Wired Arkē's /api/screen endpoint into the onboarding flow. New merchant entities now screen in under five seconds with the EU + UN + OFAC lists rolled into one Levenshtein fuzzy match.
Outcome
Onboarding cut from three days to under two hours. Screening queue moved from daily backlog to real-time. The two analysts were reassigned to transaction monitoring instead of replacing screening by hand.
Monitoring

A French neobank

12 markets live · 40k transactions/month · ACPR-regulated
Problem
Transaction monitoring was a sampled Excel exercise. Structuring patterns (just-under-threshold deposits) were missed until the auditor flagged them in the annual AML review. Two near-misses with AMF reporting requirements in 2025.
Arkē action
Switched the daily batch of transactions from a manual sample to /api/monitor with 50k tx/month on the Growth tier. Typologies detected — structuring, high-risk corridor, round-number clustering — now surface as ranked alerts.
Outcome
100% of transactions reviewed (vs. ~7% before). ACPR audit-ready log per alert, with the typology justification and the screening history attached. No near-misses in the six months since go-live.
SAR Reporting

A German CASP

MiCAR-licensed · 6 VASPs onboarded · BaFin-supervised
Problem
Every SAR took 6–8 analyst hours to draft by hand — pulling transaction detail from the internal ledger, formatting for BaFin's FIU template, compiling jurisdiction-specific footnotes. Two SARs missed the 72-hour FIU deadline during Q1.
Arkē action
Routed flagged transactions from /api/monitor directly into /api/reporting. Reports come out AMLD6-aligned, with the missing-field checklist before FIU submission and the jurisdiction hint per BaFin vs. another EU member state.
Outcome
SAR drafting down from 6–8 hours to under 30 minutes per case. FIU deadlines met on every flagged event. BaFin's 2026 readiness review accepted the SAR log straight from the Arkē audit trail — no PDF reformatting required.
What's anonymised

The companies, sectors, transaction volumes, and turnaround figures on this page are illustrative composites drawn from common onboarding conversations with EU-regulated early adopters. They are not testimonials and no customer is identified. Numbers reflect the typical profile of European fintechs evaluating Arkē as their screening, monitoring, or SAR partner.
